This book is excellent and I intend to continue it. The observation that has given me the most pause is that the function of an organization follows its form. A fully-funded subsidiary of an organization is unlikely to overhaul said organization. Since I first picked up the book, our grassroots sustainability group has become an official task force of the town. I feel a little like WhatsApp after it was acquired by Facebook - yes, our potential for bigger reach is there, but it's undeniable that we're part of a bigger organization with its own distinct vision. The question is, how best to achieve our goals, given where we are now?

This book is like an Agatha Christie novel where an ensemble cast of characters gather together, but instead of someone getting murdered they just form bonds and make each other happy.
