This was my first Neil Gaiman book. I can understand why people love his books.

This reads a lot like Harry Potter in terms of the fantasy right under people's nose, and the fact that this happened in London (what is it with London and trains, eh?) gave further familiar vibe.

The book has a good flow. It's well written, with skills and thoughts. Gaiman created a whole world in 350 pages, and it feels like there's much more in the brains this came out of. I like how this books is kind of happy ending, yet, still not, yet... is... if you read it, you'll get it.

I don't usually read fantasy like this, but I'm glad I picked this up. It was a fun read, an entertaining one, an invitation to provoke the mind and imagination.

Steve, Steve. Can't stop writing about yourself in your novels, can you?

I picked up this book because I wanted something easy and immersive. King didn't disappoint - as always, he's able to get you right into the heart of things, into the mind of the protagonist. He knows what words to use and when to make you feel like you're there, to get in character... but he can't let go of himself. Once again the main character ends up being an author. Once again he transitioning through the book. When toward the end of the book the writing shifting from third person to first person (because now the main character writes as things happen), I gave up and put the book away.

King couldn't get away from politics and his opinions of Trump in this one, or how he feels toward women (his guilt seems to bleed through the …
