Linebarger, Paul Myron Anthony: The Rediscovery of Man (Paperback, 1999, Gollancz) 4 stars

Review of 'The Rediscovery of Man' on 'Goodreads'

5 stars

This book contains a number of short stories, that are chronological ordered, content wise.
So stories that play in an earlier time are positioned before stories that play in a later time.

For me, the greater part still reads as a book.

The writer is creates very original ideas and I loved reading it!

Kazuo Ishiguro: Never Let Me Go (Paperback, 2005, Faber and Faber Ltd) 4 stars

Kathy, a clone about to donate all her organs and die, reflects on her past …

Wonderful, must read novel about friendship and human relations

5 stars

This dystopian science fiction novel is about the life of three friends, from childhood until adults. it is more about friendship and human relations and less science fiction. But a wonderful book, that you must absolutely read!

Patti Smith: Year of the Monkey (2019, Knopf) 4 stars

Weird, entertaining and beautiful written

4 stars

"The trouble with dreaming is that we eventually wake up"

This book is a kind of memoir of Patti of the year 2016. This was the year that lead to Trump's election and it was also, how fitting, the year of the monkey, according to the Chinese calendar.

At the beginning of the year a friend of Patti dies, and during the year another friend is slowly losing the battle against ALS. At the end of the year Patti turns 70 years old.

In the book the reality and dreamworld blend into each other.

I have highlighted a lot, there are many beautiful sentences in this book. I enjoyed reading this book!
